Soya Pulao


Basmati Rice ,1 cup

 DrukSoy Mini  Chunks , 2 cup

 Red chili powder, 2 tea spoon

Onion medium, 2 pcs

Tomato small ,1 pc

Curd ,3 table spoon

Turmeric powder, ¼ tea spoon

Green chili ,3 nos

Mint leaves ,8 pcs

Coriander leaves, 3 table spoon

Ginger paste ,1 tea spoon

Garlic paste,  ½ tea spoon

 Pure ghee,1 table spoon

Salt , as per taste

Cashew nut ,3 pcs

To Temper : 

Ghee or Refined oil , 3 table spoon

Cinnamon, 1 inch pcs

 Bay leaf I (Tez Patta),1 pcs

 Cloves , 2 no  

Cardamom ,2 pcs

Jeera (Cumin seeds),1 tea spoon


  1. Soak basmati rice in warm water for 30 minutes at least.
  2. Pressure cook DrukSoy granules with pinch of salt for 1 whistle until soft. Wash it well at least twice to get rid of raw smell, drain water completely and squeeze to remove excess water
  3. Keep all the other ingredients cut ready. Then, after the rice is soaked for 30 minutes, boil 5 cup water and add rice to it. Let it boil for 5 minutes ,a dd few mint leaves to this. Add salt and  1 tea spoon of Ghee. Toss and keep aside.
  4. Heat a small pressure cooker with ghee. Temper with items given above ,add sliced onion, fry till onions become transparent. Add DrukSoy mini chunks, ginger paste and fry until dry for 2 minutes in medium flame.
  5. Add tomato, salt , red chili powder, green chili and turmeric powder fry until tomatoes become soft
  6. Add curd , remaining mint leaves and fry for 2 minutes
  7. When it becomes thick , add ¼ cup water and bring to boil
  8. Add cooked rice and mix evenly, flatten with back of ladle and cover with cooker lid ,keep the gas flame low and cook for 12 minutes
  9. After 12 minutes, let it stand as it for 5 minutes and open the cooker, mix gently and garnish with coriander leaves.

       10. Now serve with fruit or onion raita
